Maine Metro F.C. was founded in October 1999 by former University of
Southern Maine All-American Brian Cooke. We are a youth premier soccer club, and a
member of USFM/Soccer Maine, and the USYSA (US Youth Soccer Association).
The club has won nine state snickers cup championships in
it's eight years of existence. Our U-12 boys in 2000, U-13 Boys in 2001,
U-14 Boys, U-12 Girls in 2002, U-12 Girls and U-13 Girls in 2003, U-13
Girls in 2004, U-13 Girls in 2005, and U-15 Girls in 2006. We
expect to increase the number of teams going to the US
regionals over the next three seasons.
Our mission is to:
1. Establish a positive environment with qualified, licensed coaches;
2. Teach fundamental and advanced individual skills, progressing to
a division one style of play and team tactics;
3. Encourage sportsmanship and team play;
4. Promote discipline and development of moral character; and
5. Help our players realize their individual goals, from simply having
fun, through making their high school team, to scholarships in
college soccer and beyond.
Our teams are premier level and only the best players in the
Metro Area are selected for each team. Players are required to make commitments to
play and practice as required by the coaching staff.
Players will also be required to tryout for their respective teams each year, and
are not guaranteed a place on the team, the following season. This position
encourages all our players to work hard and focus on development.
