Dana White, MPT

Strength and Conditioning Specialist

Dana is currently serving his second year as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the AHL Portland Pirates Professional Hockey Team.  He also serves as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Portland Junior Pirates.

Dana has over 20 years experience teaching, coaching and training athletes of all ages, abilities, and sports disciplines. He has trained and/or rehabilitated hundreds of elite level athletes, including high school and college All-Conference, All-State, and All-Americans, International/Professional soccer players, US Ski Team members, NHL, NFL, MLB, Professional Lacrosse, and US Champion Equestrians.  He has his teaching certification and B.S. Degree from Springfield College (1982), where he was a 4-year starting soccer goalkeeper and also played on the volleyball team.  Dana later pursued graduate studies in advanced sports medicine/biomechanics at San Diego State University (1990) and obtained his master’s degree in physical therapy at the College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in California (1996).

During a 10-year span in California, Dana also served as the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, was a member of the San Diego State University’s Sports Medicine Team, and was a physical therapist for the world renowned Kerlan and Jobe Orthopedic Sports Clinic.

Dana’s soccer coaching experience includes 3 years coaching at the high school level, 2 years as an assistant coach/goalkeeping coach at Boston College, 3 years staff coach for Joe Machnik’s # 1 Goalkeeping Schools, 2 years staff coach/goalkeeping coach for Victory Soccer Schools, 10 years owner/director of Cape Ann Soccer School, British Football Association Coaching School, Manchester, England.  Dana also had the opportunity to train in France and Spain for six months, as he was hired to train a professional goalkeeper prior to and during try-outs with 1st and 2nd Division Professional Clubs.
