PLAYER DEVELOPMENT

Maine Metro F.C. began providing a variety of educational opportunities for both its members and players from Greater Portland and surrounding areas in the fall 2003.  Take advantage of these wonderful opportunities to develop your ability by joining our professional staff for a variety of enjoyable and educational soccer opportunities.

Player Development Programs - Camps and Clinics

U-11 Development Programs - click here for details

MMFC Clinics - Throughout the year, MMFC will hold a variety or clinics for players and coaches.  Check back often for a schedule of events to come.

Private Training - Throughout the year, many players seek to gain the extra advantage through this specialized 1 on 1 work with a staff coach.  Several MMFC Staff coaches provide these private training sessions for the players.  Group sessions are available as well.

Goalkeeper Training - Throughout the year, many players seek to gain the extra advantage through this specialized 1 on 1 work with a GK coach.  MMFC works closely with several specialized goal keeper coaches and provides opportunities for its members to receive this specialized training.

Footskills Training - MMFC will continue offering speed, agility, strength, footskills, and fundamentals programs to all registered MMFC players.  This year's program will begin in December 2007.  The program is mandatory for all MMFC players and will focus on improving the players speed, agility, conditioning, and flexibility.  The session will run for 16 weeks.  Each session will run for 2 hours (i.e. 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.).  DATES AND TIMES TO BE CONFIRMED.  If you are not a registered MMFC player and would like to attend these sessions, please send us an e-mail or call 207-878-0316.

Preseason Training Camp -   The Preseason Training Camp is a mandatory event for all MMFC players and teams.  The camp provides an intensive week of training for MMFC members in preparation for the 2005 spring season.  The camp is tentatively scheduled for March 29th. through April 2nd. (5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each day)

Day Camp -  The camp is open to all players from ages 5 up, and will include both MMFC and non-MMFC members.  Come join our professional staff and MMFC's finest players for an enjoyable and educational week of soccer.  The MMFC Day Camp provides the most competitive environment in Southern Maine for players to learn and develop in.

Summer Training - During the summer months, MMFC Staff will conduct a 5 week training program for players.  Course topics include technical, scoring, and speed training.  Join us and use these sessions to get a head start on the competition for the fall.  Each player receives the greatest of attention as the player-to-coach ratio is 6:1 or lower per course.

If you would like to participate in any of the above mentioned player development programs, please call Brian Cooke at 207-878-0316, or send us an e-mail mmfc@maine.rr.com
