U-13 BOYS CRUSH ODYSSEY 8-0 IN MAY 20TH SNICKERS CUP ROUND ROBIN GAME

Maine Metro's U-13 boys blanked Odyssey 8-0 on Sunday in Topsham.   Metro went on the attack from the early going hitting the net four times in the first half and sustained the relentless attack in the second half adding four more goals.   The team played extremely well, controlling the game and attacking at will.   Erik Hansen had 4 goals, Hek Yaqub, Kyle Shangraw, Sean Meehan, and Nick Johnson had a goal a piece.  A well balanced attack. The man of the match taking MVP honors was Erik Hanson with four goals.

Metro U-12 boys becoming a serious threat for the Snickers cup.  Our U-12 boys continue to improve each week and is a serious contender for the 2001 Snickers Cup.  Our first game ended  in a 2-2 draw against MCU, with MCU coming back in the late stages of the game to equalize. Goal scorers were MacGill Eldredge and Zach Johnson.

Metro U-12 boys crush Rising Sun 6-0 in the second game.  Metro dominated this game from start to finish with some great passing from the midfield and wings.  Gabe Balzano-Brookes scored 3 goals.  Chris Urban, Macgill Eldredge and Eben Perking scored 1 each.     Metro U-12 girls lose Round Robin opener on Sunday to Odyssey 3-0.  A well played game that could have gone either way.

Metro U-12 girls beat MCU 1-0 in second game of the round robin tournament.  Chelsea Johnson was taken down in the penalty box with a minute to go and made no mistake blasting the penalty in the back of the net.  Great showing by our metro teams!

U-13 Boys win second game in the Snickers Cup round-robin 5-1 over Merrymeeting U-13 premier.  We continued where we left off in the Odyssey game, scoring quickly and frequently against Merrymeeting.  Metro showed its superiority in skills and quickness as we dominated play from start to finish.  We are improving with every game.  Goal scorers were Greg Frost with two goals, and Nick Johnson, Kyle Shangraw, Hex Yaqub, and Devin McNeill each had one goal.  The man of the match earning MVP honors was Nick Johnson who was a menace to the Merrymeeting defense all day long and scored a great goal in the second half.

U-13 BOYS CONTINUE TO ROLL...WITH VICTORIES OVER RISING SUN AND COASTAL

Maine Metro's U-13 boys continued their winning streak last Sunday with wins over Rising Sun from Bangor 5-1, and Coastal 5-0.  This was an outstanding weekend for our U-13 boys team.  The team play improved each time we took the field, scoring 14 goals in three matches.  Sean Meehan took the MVP honors in the first game on Sunday against Rising Sun, scoring two remarkable goals from long range.   The entire team took MVP honors in the second game Sunday vs. Coastal.  We controlled the play throughout and the team effort was outstanding.  This was by far our best game this year.  Well done Metro!

On other Metro results, our U-12 boys continue to improve winning 6-1 against the Terriers from Waterville, but lost a tough game against Coastal 4-0.  We were 1-0 down at the half, and knocking on the door, but was not able to finish. Our U-12 girls also played well but came up a little short against Coastal 2-1.  Overall great showing by our metro teams!
