| U-13 BOYS CRUSH
ODYSSEY 8-0 IN MAY 20TH SNICKERS CUP ROUND ROBIN GAME Maine Metro's U-13 boys blanked Odyssey 8-0 on Sunday in Topsham.
Metro went on the attack from the early going hitting the net four times in the
first half and sustained the relentless attack in the second half adding four more goals.
The team played extremely well, controlling the game and attacking at will.
Erik Hansen had 4 goals, Hek Yaqub, Kyle Shangraw, Sean Meehan, and Nick Johnson had a
goal a piece. A well balanced attack. The man of the match taking MVP honors was
Erik Hanson with four goals.
Metro U-12 boys becoming a serious
threat for the Snickers cup. Our U-12 boys continue to improve each week
and is a serious contender for the 2001 Snickers Cup. Our first game ended in
a 2-2 draw against MCU, with MCU coming back in the late stages of the game to equalize.
Goal scorers were MacGill Eldredge and Zach Johnson.
Metro U-12 boys crush Rising Sun
6-0 in the second game. Metro dominated this game from start to finish with
some great passing from the midfield and wings. Gabe Balzano-Brookes scored 3 goals. Chris Urban, Macgill Eldredge
and Eben Perking scored 1 each.
Metro U-12 girls lose Round Robin
opener on Sunday to Odyssey 3-0. A well played game that could have gone
either way.
Metro U-12 girls beat MCU 1-0 in
second game of the round robin tournament. Chelsea Johnson was taken down
in the penalty box with a minute to go and made no mistake blasting the penalty in the
back of the net. Great showing by our metro teams!

U-13 Boys win second game in the
Snickers Cup round-robin 5-1 over Merrymeeting U-13 premier. We continued
where we left off in the Odyssey game, scoring quickly and frequently against
Merrymeeting. Metro showed its superiority in skills and quickness as we dominated
play from start to finish. We are improving with every game. Goal scorers were
Greg Frost with two goals, and Nick Johnson, Kyle Shangraw, Hex Yaqub, and Devin McNeill
each had one goal. The man of the match earning MVP honors was Nick Johnson who was
a menace to the Merrymeeting defense all day long and scored a great goal in the second
half.
